The Arts Competition is an optional event for the vendors to showcase their work however anyone may enter the arts competition (with exceptions listed below). There is a $20 entry fee. Each artist may enter only one item. Each entry will receive a sterling silver Native American flute necklace, while supplies last.

You may enter a flute in the Arts Competition if, and only if, it does not meet the requirements of the Flute Makers Competition. If entered in the Arts competition, it will be judged as a piece of art, not as a musical instrument.

The 2011 1st place winner cannot enter the 2012 Competition

The item being entered must bear the image of an American Bison (commonly known as American Buffalo).

All items must be originals, no reproductions.

All items must be handmade and of Native American style. The item must have been made by the individual entering it.

Each artist can enter only 1 item. Multiple pieces are allowed if they are part of a homogeneous set. The set will be judged as one item.

Any signature or identifying trademark must be covered.

The actual creator of the art piece must present themselves with their work at the main festival tent between 9am and 10am on Saturday, April 21, 2012. Artists will be required to complete a short registration form and pay their fee. The item being entered will receive its entry number and be prominently displayed in the Arts Competition Area.

Judges, Musical Echoes Board members, and their immediate families are ineligible to enter the Arts competition.

Judging will be done by a panel of experts. All decisions of the judges are final.

The winners will receive their awards at the award ceremony later that day.

Artists may sell their entered item, but may not remove it from the Arts Competition Area until the competition is over and the awards have been presented.

Artists must claim their entry from the main tent when called (after the competition and award ceremony). Musical Echoes is not responsible for items left in the main tent.
